The crowd at the counter at* the Lombrady Lunch Room has noticed a change since the Shepherds took over their favorite restaurant’s management in September. “Shep” and Mae Shepherd ran the Texaco station and grocery store at the comer of routes 229 and 211 for two years. Now they’ve taken on the skillets and spatulas. And a lot of compliments have gone to the chefs.
E. Franklin Warner, a native of Rappahannock County and student at the old Scrabble School, retired on January 5 after more than 30 years of federal service.
