The experience that Ms. Clatterbuck described creat)ed an opportunity to step / outside of one's “comfort zone.” This is always a first step when real change occurs. While I am Encouraged to know that Ms.. Clatterbuck is looking forward to next year’s celebration, I would, however, encourage her, and others who may have similar feelings, to find other ways throughout the year to celebrate the diversity of our country and our community, that will in turn, strengthen all of us.
Thank you Ms. Clatterbuck for opening a dialogue; albeit a bittersweet beginning that needs to be continued and nurtured.
