POTENTIAL ROAD CLOSURE
The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors shall hold a public informational meeting on Monday November 2, 2009 at their regular 2 00pm General Business meeting The replacement of the bndge over Battle Run is one of the highest pnonties of the County Six-Year Transportation Plan, but declining state revenues for road improvements have forced consideration of money-saving measures, including a temporary closure of the road rather than re-routing it saving the construction costs involved therein. The condition of the bridge may necessitate load limits and other restnctions over the course of time pnor to its replacement. The Virginia Department of Transportation has sought the Board's concurrence in a temporary closure of the bndge, likely in 2012, of from 90-120 days, in order for the bridge to be replaced.
