The Grammy award-winning female African-American a cappella group Sweet Honey in the Rock will perform two concerts on Oct. 24 and 25, under the auspices of The Chateauville Foundation, at the intimate Theatre House at Castleton Farms.
The Theatre House is the centerpiece of a 550-acre property in Castleton where the renowned conductor Lorin Maazel has created a world-class performance series and a new annual music festival. These concerts are a rare opportunity to see and hear this highly acclaimed ensemble, which regularly sells out 2.500-seat venues, in a theater with only 140 places.
Sweet Honey in the Rock was founded in 1973 at the DC. Black Repertory Theater Company. The group has been a vital and innovative presence in the music culture of Washington, D.C. and in other communities around the world for over 35 years.
