For their only home game in the two weeks’ play, the Panthers were in "... a more stable emotional state.” On Oct. 8, they met the George Mason Mustangs in Rapp territory. In a dominating 3-0 win, “the home crowd had something to cheer about in Logan’s honor,” Coach Settle said.
Hanna Kopjanski scored 12 consecutive serving points, while Megan Early “added her superb defense on the back row with four kills on the front row.” Along with Addie Swindler’s 7 kills and Dani Knitter's 9 kills, the team had “something to smile about at the end of a long week,” the coach said.
The subsequent week’s play brought mixed results for the traveling Lady Panthers. On Oct. 13, Rapp fell to Madison in a 0-3 match. Illness and inconsistent offense plagued the team. Coach Settle reported, “It seems like ... when one piece of the puzzle is not present or not fully operating, the rest of the puzzle falls through.”
Oct. 15 presented a revived team at Manassas Park. The ladies “swept MP without much effort” and celebrated a 3-0 win. Coach Settle added, “We are gearing up for an upcoming critical week.”
This week will determine Rapp’s placement in the district.
