Keeping a constant vigil
Tucked away in the central telemetry room at Fauquier Hospital, Treche Phipps keeps a constant eye on the heart monitors for the non ICU inpatients who need cardiac observation. And thanks to Treche’s sharp eye and keen surveillance skills, the clinical staff is able to address emergent medical issues before they become a problem — which helps to save lives.
"I’m continuously monitoring tire EKGs and communicating with the nurses," Treche says. "And even though I don’t have a lot of direct patient contact, I like knowing that I’m able to help the patients from behind the scenes.”
Treche also likes knowing she’s a part of the Fauquier Health family.
"I love my job,” she says. “It’s a lot of fun, but it's mostly because of the people I work with. They're wonderful. In fact, they’re the reason I got this award. I wouldn’t be able to do my job without the nurses, doctors, coordinators, and the other people who work in my office. We’re a team.”
