Robert E. (Bobby) Atkins
Formerly of Sperryville, Virginia
Robert E. (Bobby) Atkins, 72, of New London, PA, went home to be with the Lord on December 5, 2009, after a three year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Evelyn (Mallamas) Atkins with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Bom in Sperryville, VA, he was the son of the late Hugh S. aihd Ruth Atkins. He was employed with Scott Paper Company in Chester, PA for 38 years, retiring in 1994. He also served in the United States Army, with the 513th Transportation Division, stationed in Germany. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Matthew S. Atkins of New Jersey and the Rev. Michael S. Atkins of New London, PA; one sister, MarySue A. Cooke and husband, Bob of Culpeper, VA and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh S. Atkins, Jr. Active with Ground Zero Youth Ministry and the GZ Master's Commission, he enjoyed the young people of the Christian Life Center of New London. He had many friends on the CB radio over the years and enjoyed talking with them daily. Services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Christian Life Center, New London, rA with interment in Philadelphia Memorial Gardens.
