W inners of the 4-H candy bar sales campaign were announced at the elementary school on Dec. 7. The announcement and presentation of three of four winner’s ribbons was made by County Extension Agent Florence Vickers. Daphne Atkins earned first prize by selling five boxes. Her pnze either will be a scholarship to 4-H camp or her choice of some other 4-H activity Jim McCullough, a junior at the high school won second pnze, $25, for selling five boxes. John Mallory took third-place honors., $15, for selling four full boxes Morgen Hay won the $10 fourth pnze, selling nine candy bars short of four boxes.
She calls herself an “old fashioned librarian," and says that really means she has not yet begun to call herself a “media center specialist,” an up-to-date name for her vocation.
