For its part, the Little Fork Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department was pleased to be able to help, said Deputy Chief Doug Monaco.
The 1994 ambulance, which had been donated to Little Fork by the City of Fairfax four or five years ago, had outlived its usefulness as an emergency vehicle for humans, Monaco said.
Through a state grant and a donation from the Laila Rose Foundation, the company was able to purchase a new ambulance and intended to sell the old one, which could no longer be used as an ambulance in Virginia. Monaco said.
