"The greatest day in radip in the history of Southern Virginia ' is be ing heralded by Radio Station WSVS in Crewe as plans are being effected for a full day of special program ming on April 7 in commeriioration of its 10th anniversary. The station went on the air April 7 1947. and in the ten succeeding years has spent over one j million dollars in the area, according to of ficials Its payroll over the! period has amounted to over a half! million dollars. The special day of broadcasting will feature entertainment from over the entire area, such as the presentations by Longwood College Music Department, under the direc tion of Dr. John Molnar; thd Crewe and Blackstone High Schooljs glee clubs; Buckingham Central High School: South Hill School; pouglas Vaughan, violinist. Ronald Davis, pianist-organist, and Garnett; Smith, dramatist, all of Hampden-Sydney College; a trio from Amelia High School; the glee club from Luther Foster High School in Blackstone; Janan Montgomery and Beverly Dortch and a choral club from South Hill Schools.
