Many communities, churches, civic groups and schools have availed themselves of the stations’ facilities during the period, through out the 14-county area the station serves. In addition, all national drives such as Cancer, Heart, Polio, and others are given' more than a fair measure of free time. Churches from many of the larger communi ties in the area broadcast their Sun day worship services and partici pate in religious education pro grams and in daily devotional serv ices on WSVS. Since entering competition for awards in 1952. WSVS has won 17 major awards from the Associated Press News Service.
