College of William and Mary in 1776 and the Eta of Virginia chapter was established at Harnp den-Sydney in 1949. To be eligible for selection, a student must hav an overall scholastic average of 90 in courses taken at the college, must be in the upper IOC of class and must have passed all his courses. The men have been active in sports, three being lettermen and two of these are captains of then various sports. McVey m foot ball, Odom, captain of the tennis team, and Moore captain of the cross country squad. Five are fraternity men, Bird and Harrelson are Kappa Alpha's with Harrelson president; McVey is president of the Chi Phi’s: Pembroke is a Kappa Sigma and Moore is in Lambda Chi. Four Are ODK’s Bird, Odom. Pembroke and Mc Vey are ODK members and Bird and McVey are in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universi ties. Besides these activities, Odom is president of Eta Sigma Phi. Pembroke is editor of the Hamp ' dey-Sydney Magazine Harrelson is president of Chi Beta Phi, Mc Vey is president of ODK and the Gorman Club. Moore is vice-pres ident of Chi Beta Phi and Bird is president of the student body. Those seeking a B.A. degree ! outnumber the B.S.’s three to two, with McVey seeking both degrees. Odom. Pembroke and Bird are B. A.’s and Harrelson and Moore are B.S.'s. Harrelson plans to at tend the Medical College of Vir ginia___next fall, Pembroke plans on the Business School of the Un iversity of Virginia. !
