Howardsville The Howardsville Hawks softball team held its organizational meet ing March 12. Robert Baber was j elected president: Hugh Brown, vice-president; Marvin Ripley, sec retary: Billy Goodman, manager, and Mrs. William Goodman, score keeper. Plans are to have a benefit i entertainmaent and sell Brunswick Stew at the ball diamond March 23 to raise money for lighting the field. Robert Baber has agreed to | take his bulldozer and level off the land. Plans are to install seats. Mr. and Mrs William I- Burcher are spending a week at Buckroe Beach with Mr. and Mrs L. T. Boggs. They will also visit Mr and Mrs. Clyde Burcher at Warwick. Giannini attended a district meet ing at thp First Methodist church in Charlottesville Monday, repre senting Howardsville church WSCS. Dillwyn, Rt. 2 Henry Yarbrough, of Lynchburg, was guest speaker at Salem Metho dist church Sunday morning. Mrs. Matilda Moren and Donald Moren. of Duane in King William county; Mrs. Edward McClelland, and boys, of Highland Springs: Mr. and Mrs. J. Russell McGeorge. of Mangohick: Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Phaup. and Andy, of Richmond; Mr. and Mrs. Reeves Phaup. of Curds ville; Mrs. Alice R Wash. Mrs. Nannie Fitzgerald, Mrs. Pearl Elam and J. Ernest Trice, of Farmville, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Yarbrough, of Lynchburg, visited Mr. and Mrs. Crosby Phaup Sunday. Mrs. Phaup has been on the sick list for a short while.
