Latest findings of researchers at Virginia Experiment Station and the ten outlying field units now are available in printed form from the Station at VPI, Blacksburg.
The 96-page report, “Agricultural Research,’ covers the period from July ;1, 1947 to June 30, 1949, and traces the progress of Virginia’s scientists in their efforts to help the farmer produce more efficiently.
Projects on field and garden crops, livestock, human and animal nutrition, soils, farm machinery, and many other phases of underway and have been reported farming and homemaking, are in brief.
Commenting on the report, and on the value of research in farming, Station Director, H. N. Young says “. . . we are trying to help the farmer make a comfortable living from the land, rear his family comfortably and well, leave his farm in a better condition that he found it, and become a more useful citizen . . . part of the story' of our efforts is found in this report.”
