Ewe Give* Birth To
Lambs 12 Days Apart
An unusual and outstanding: record in veterinary history was broken this month when a ewe belonging to Aubrey H. Keyser, gave birth to two healthy lambs born 12 days apart.
The first lamb was born on December 10, and the second one arrived 12 days later.
Both lambs are of approximately the same weight and to date are still living and in a healthy condition.
The ewe which is of the Hampshire breed was raised at “The Oaks”, the farm of A. H. Keyser, near Washington on the Mt. Salem Hoad.
Dr. Bell Porter, veterinarian of Riverton, who was called on the case, reported that this was the first case of its kind that he /had seen in his practicing, or Jhad 4«ver read about in the veterinary \ medical records. He stated that there had been cases similar to this one, but that the second lamb which had been delivered of the ewe had always been born dead or had died shortly thereafter.
