Hey! Ma! There'*

That Telephone Again!

X<ast week was Christinas and we all had on our best behavior. iSanta Claus has come and gone nnd we don’t have to be extragood mntil just before Christmas next year.

It’s that telephone situation. In case you haven’t heard, Rappahannock resents having to pay a toll on calls within the county boundaries. We feel we should talk to our neighbors when we wish, without figuring whfetheg • we’ve already made that phone ' fiill a headache this month. Vi

The signs say there are 267 square miles in the county—aw, ehucks! why -quote a bunch of dull statistics!

Can’t anyone thfink of some suggestion that would help get this toll-charge nuisance obliterated?

New Cars

Everywhere is broken out with new cars! The new 1950 Plymouths are due for January 12, or somewhere near that date; Russell Bros, in Flint Hill are grinning and refusing to give out pictures on that new 1950 Chrysler, “Come and see it,” they say; Shaffer’s Garage in Culpeper is smiling over the soon-to-be-seen new 1950 De Soto; and Parkway Chevrolet in Front Royal brags on the new 1950 Chevrolet.

Don’t worry! We’re going to see them all!
