Holiday Parties
One of the highlights of the Christinas season entertainments was a hunt breakfast given by Captain and Mrs. H. C. Wai-wick at “Rockbottom” on Friday evening, December .23, when they entertained a large number of guests in honor of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William M. Warwick of Silver Spring, Maryland.
Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Snead were hosts to a number of guests at open house on Christmas Eve.

Virginia Revenues Gain
17 Pet. in Five Months
The Associated Press reported from Richmond this week that revenues for Virginia’s general fund during the first five months of this fiscal year ran 17 per cent ahead of the comparable period last year.
A total of $24,532,610 flowed into the general fund diiring, the July - November period, an increase of $3,457,571.
These indications that the'state is well on its way to a gocyi financial year—even before revenues from increased incoine t’ajj. rates are felt—came from the monthly compilation of revenues prepared by the office of State Comptroller Henry C. Gilmer.
