Episcopal Church Wins
Door Decoration Prize
Trinity Episcopal church, was awarded the first prize in the door decoration contest sponsored by the Woman’s Auxiliary to the Rappahannock Volunteer Fire Company for the Christmas season. The church was decorated with evergreen bells on the doors and a lighted star above the entrance.
The home of the George H. Davis, Jr., family received the° second award on their decoration which represented a Christmas package. The address on the package was in the fohn of a Christmas greeting card from the Davis family.
Third prize went to the Milton M. Hawkins family where the double "doors were decorated with a snowman and a lighted CJiristmas tree. Season’s Greetings saps' peared in red rustic letters.
Those whoxserved as judges on Friday evening were S. E. Hening, IVJrs. George Taylor, and Mrs. W. H. Lyne of Sperryville.
This door contest was sponsored by the Woman’s Auxiliary to the fire company for the purpose of reminding the citizens of the community of the dangers of the many fire hazards encountered during the Christmas season. • Many of the homes attracted favorable comment. The Cou-rthouw was especially noticed and general interest was shown in the Santa on the chimney at the - Lewis Turner home.
