Contests will be featured all during the day. There will be rooster races, potato races, and a climb-the-pole contest. The elusive greased pig will be chased.
Door prizes will be given for guests from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and a separate set of door prizes will be given for the evening hours, 6 to 19 p.m.

A good friendly bit of competition can put real pleasure into a day. We know that there can be wily one person who agrees with the judges-r-that’s the fellow who wins first prize—but cussing oof the judges is part of the fun. Like a good ball game, there’s more fun when you give a rousing cry of “kill the umpire!” Part of the entertainment of the fair is walking around, examining the prize winners and scorning the judges’ decisions. You can, likewise, be fairly certain that when you scorn the first-prize winner in favor of another, the person who overhears you is either the winner himself, or his cousin.
Another nice aspect of the fair is found in the sour-puss who gripes because his exhibit didn’t win the first prize, and the judges picked that “ 'onery-looking, skinny, knock-kneed calf, instead of | my good one.” If he gets good and mad about it, then you can have some extra fun teasing.
You’re cheating yourself if you don’t have at least one entry in competition, at the fair. There is
no way you can get the same in-1 terest unless you’ve taken a part, f (Get a copy of the catalogue and look over the classes listed for1* competition. Put in as many entries as you can. It gives you a I better chance to brag about winning. Don’t place the odds high against you by only having ah entry in one class, you stand too slim a chance to win. Enter several classes, then if you can’t get a blue ribbon in one, you stand a chance in another. ,
Don’t put off too long. You may need time to dress up your entry to make it shine better on fair day.
