New Social Security Law
The new Social Security law,' signed by the President August 28, became effective September 1, 1950. Under a provision of the new law, increased payments will go to everyone now receiving oldage or survivors insurance payments. If you are now receiving payments, you have received or will receive a postcard giving the following information:
1. You will receive more money—-The new Federal Social Security law entitles you to larger monthly insurance benefits starting "yith. Jthe; check- you will-ra»^ ceive early in October.
2. You need take no action— Your increase will come automatically.
3. You will be able to earn more money in employment covered by social security and still receive your benefit check — Beginning " September 1, 1950, you may earn! as much as $50.00 a month. If you are 75 or over, you may earn any amount.
