Town Council' Agrees

To Put Up Town Signs

At the town council meeting: Tuesday night -with all the ladies present, it was agreed to have signs placed at the entrances of the town designating its name.

Other, business attended to included: designating $10 for the community Christmas tree; asking William Moffett to see that iiis apple business does not continue to block Gay Street; asking Downing Wood to post signs when business At his apple-packing shed) stops traffic on the street; and ordering the trash cans around town painted green with white lettering.

Committees were appointed for work to: ask the highway department to fix the culvert at Charlie Bruce's corner; go before the Judge to request getting water rent free for the town; contact George Hawkins About building benches for the town; and ask Harvey Clannagan about street cleaning.

Robert L. Brown agreed to ask Mrs. B. G. Calfee of Culpeper •bout having the Confederate monument repaired.

It was reported that someone Iff toWn had Applied 'for A.B.C.4 license. This report was untrue, but the council voted five to one that anyone applying for such a license would meet no opposition from the town.
