Christmas T-B Seals

Go On Sale Monday

Sale of Christmas Seals by the Tuberculosis Association will begin Monday, November 20, and will last until January 15, 1951.

Seal sale chairmen announced for the different communities of the county are:

Mrs. A. M. Verner, Washington;

Mrs. G. W. Smith, Flint Hill;

Mrs. Floyd Hitt, Amissville;

Mrs. Emily Revercomb, Sperry▼ille;

Mrs. J. H. Filling, Woodville; • Mrs. J. G. Revercomb, F.T. Valky;

Miss Carol A. Williams, Negro chairman.

Each town and community will report during the seal sale drive as to the progress being- made. • The work of the association is definite. It tries to locate cases of tuberculosis. When such a case is located, the association has xrays given, helps in locating sanitorium space for treatment for the patient. In needy cases, the association pays for x-rays and also pays for expenses for the first three months, of treatment, where such is needed.

There is a case now in the town of Washington where the T-B association is preparing the way for a patient to enter Blue Ridge Sanitorium.

The T-B association works in full co-operation with the county health department as was shown when the association donated $500 to the establiahing of a health department in the county. The association’s gift was matched by a donation from an anonymous donor in the countv.
