WARRENTON—Fauquier county’s routine .schedule qf summer crowd-gathering events will be garnished August 4 and 5 by a re-discovered craze that’s old as these Virginyi hills—a hill billy music fest.
Billed as the National Championship Country Music Contest, it already has brought inquiries and hotel reservations from as far away as Tennessee and New York state.
Open- to all country musicians, the contest will feature $1,200 in prize money, which will go to the best old-time fiddler, banjo jicker, guitarist, hill billy band, square dance team and male or female singer. No application or entry fees are needed. Just bring your music and come, or .come and listen.
