Mr. Patterson, 'from the Rich-* mond Times-Dispatch was in “She Town" as they -refer to “the Oldest Washington of all, (but which we do not like any better than we do when someone refers to our town as “Little Washington”. Mr. Patterson was here to get a story of the town. For quite Borne time now the Dispatch has been running stories of the smaller towns in Virginia, they are very good stories arid very interesting, the stories are written about the fire company, the old homes of the community, the government, the family doctors, that have always been there, in other words they paint an everyday picture of the life the people in these communities live. This is what we hope the Richmond Times-Dispatch will give our town “The First Washington of Them All.” j.

Entertains Bridge Club
Mrs. G. W. Smith entertained the Washington bridge club and a few friends at her home in Flint Hill fo rbridge Wednesday evening July 18. Guests were Mrs. Elizabeth DeRergh, Mrs. J. W. Price, Mrs. Wade H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., Mrs. Lewis) Turner, Mrs. B. M. Miller, Mrs. D. D. Miller, Mrs. J. E. Keyser, Mrs. Charles Bruce, Mrs. Robert Massie, Mrs. R. V. Snead, Mrs. M. R. Bradford, Mrs. Claude Cook, Mrs. W. A. Moore, Mrs. Johnny McGehee, and Mrs. Wilbur Davidson. Prizes were won by Mrs. Davis, first; Mrs. Cook traveling; Mrs. D. D. Miller, bingp; and Mrs. Bruce, low.
