‘Be Prepared’—Our Motto
Rappahannock is having to adopt the Scouts’ motto — “Be Prepared”—for the forth-coming musical season in the county at Avon Mills. '
Some folks in the county are not up to the latest in matters concerning concerts, attendance, behavior, appreciation, etd. No one wantg to embarrass those in the county who are well-versed in all such matters, so vte have been trying to bone-up on all the eti(fuette demanded for the occasion. We don’t want to admit, as one local fellow put .It, that we can’t ?tell “God Save the Weasel” from “Pop Goe$ the King.” ' _' . During hi8 army experience when the band started playing, he looked around quickly; if the others stood at salute, then he knew the tune was the “Star-Spangled Banner.” Therein » the sum total of his knowledge of music.
Some of the rest of us are not much betteP, hut we want to know how to act when the tunes begin. Publicity has run far and wide on the location of the mnsic festival at Avon Mills near Washington. The local folks have got to live up to all the fancy stories.
