Shave to delete, tactfully, the age on the little girl's birthday party, for with the passing years she may have doctored that age a wee bit, and the paper has made an undying enemy in printing the correct age. Then/ too, an old editor relates one of his sad experience; and we are trying to profit by it. In putting the paper together one week, quite by mistake one of the items got taken out of the “25-Years Ago” column and put over in the regular news notes. It wouldn’t .have been so had, maybe, but it announced that Mrs. So-and-Such was being congratulated on the birth of a daughter —and the lady had been a widow for 15 years! The poor ole’ editor said he went fishing for the day after the paper came out and then took a much-needed vacation in a distant section of the state for the rest of the week! He knew that if he tried to correct the error, it would cause more commerJ)-, so be just hoped didn’t many people see it.

Bobbie Massie, new printer’s devil, is learning a ffw bitter lessons on the tkialq of newspaper work. Last week he was reading proofs to ferret out and correct errors. Despite his labors, something got scrambled, and woe betide! it was his mother’s party, that caught the worst end of the bargain! The story stated something about some lady winning the prize for men and said Capt. Warwick had won Rayner Snead. Bobbie has been teased about it untfl he wishes he had never heard of any part of it!
