FIRE AUXILIARY MEETS WITH MRS. MASSIE
The Ladies' Auxiliary of Rappahannock Fire Company met Jan. uary 7 at the home of the president Mrs. Wade H. Massie, Jr.
The treasurer reported a bank balance of $641.53, including a profit of $163.44 made on the square dance held December 28.
A decision to postpone the fireman’s banquet until February was made after discussion of the uncertain weather and the fact that the auxiliary was scheduled to serve a farmers’ banquet on January 21.
Business discussion included plans for a movie on Virginia to be given in April and also the auxiliary to sponsor a dance in January for the infantile paralysis fund.
The patched aprons were turned in to the auxiliary showing donations totaling $70: $12.90 from Amissville; $24.10 from Washington; and $33 from Flint Hill. People who patched the old aprons sewed money under the patches.
Mrs. Richie Colvin entertained Sunday afternoon.
