Plan Meetings
Virginia’s two sheep breeders' associations have scheduled meetings for January.
George "Litton, associate animal husbandman at VPI, and secretary of the two groups, says the Southwest Virginia Purebred Sheep Breeders’ Association will meet January 16 in Bland. The Valley Northern Purebred Sheep Breeder's’ Association will meet January 18 in Staunton.
Both associations will elect officers and make plans for the 1952 sales.
Litton also announced that the eastern stud ram sale committee meeting will be held January 15 at VPI. At that time plans will be made for the stud ram sale, which) has been scheduled for June 13 and 14 in Staunton.

Chester Phelps, chief of the Commission’s game division, announces that Virginia is not alone when she points with pride to her rebounding deer herds, for the Commission’s success in bringing the white-tail back to the mountains is given national recognition in the latest Annual Report of the Pittman-Robertson Program, prepared by the Wildlife Management Institute, covering results of the P-R program in all 48 states.
The report states that, “the restocking of deer into the mountains of Virginia has been eminently successful. Since 1939, Virginia has planted nearly 1,500 deer under its P-R program. Studies show that approximately 40,000 of these animals now roam the state.” *
