V.E.A. Meeting
District N of Virginia Education Association will hold its annual School, October 3. The membership meeting in Warren County High of this district consists of all white persons actively engaged in public education in the counties of Clark, Culpeper, Frederick, Fauquier, Prince' William, Page, Loudoun, Warren and Rappahannock.
The meeting will start its morning session at 9:30 with Miss Virginia E. Lewis, Culpeper, presiding. Other highlights of the day will be music by the Culpeper High School Band and The Luray High School Band. Welcome address will be given by Q. D. Gasque, superintendent of schools in Warren and Rappahannock County Schools. A business session will follow the address. A talk will be made by H. H. Walker, president of V.E.A. Dr. Thomas G. Pulldi, State Superintendent of Public Instruction for Maryland, will be introduced by Ray E. Reid, Assistant Superintendent of Public Instruction for Virginia. The meeting will recess for lunch at 12:15 until 1:30. Frank Gurney will direct a vocal ensemble by the Luray High School. Mrs. Leslie Fox Keyser, supervisor of Elementary Schools of Warren and Rappahannock Counties, will conduct the Memorial Service, which will be followed by the introduction of the afternoon speaker, Dr. Charles Caldwell, professor of Education of Madison College, by Robert F. Williams, executive secretary of V.E.A. The theme of the meeting will be “Better School and Community Relations."
The thousonds of school children in District N will welcome the arrival of October 3, 1952, because there will be no school bells ringing for them on that day.
