Auto Accident Sends
Four To'Hospital
Four persons were hospitalized and car completely demolished near Sptrryville, when a car wrecked, Friday, September 19, around 10:30 p.m.
State Trooper Nicodemus, investigating officer, reported that a 1939 . Mercury, operated and owned by Reid Fincham of Falls Church skidded and hit a bridge on 211, near SffCrryville. An occupant of the car stated that they were#going around 85 mph and were trying to reach 90 mph when the accident occurred. The four men were rushed to the University Hospital, where they received treatment. Harold Estes of Washington, husband of Mrs. Virginia Settle Estes, was sitting on the rear seat when the accident occurred. Both of Mr. Estes’s legs were broken, several toes severed and body bruised and lacerated. Jessie Jenkins,.annthpr occupant of the car, received bruises, lacerations on his body and a broken leg. Nicholson, who received less injuries,-suffered a broken arm, w-as treated at the time and dismissed from the hospital. Reid Fincham suffered a crushed hip and other bodily injuries. Estes, Jenkins and Fincham are in the hospital with intense suffering, but as yet no serious complications have been reported. Friends and relatives are visiting the boy3 daily.
The case is set for Friday, September 26, but it is expected to be continued because of the conditions of the three men who are in the hos* pital.
