Prices at the first Virginia Feeder Calf Sale (Septeml*er 19) were very disappointing. Six hundred head sold for an average of al>out '27c per pound. This price is 11.15c under last year’s average. As was* the case last year X33 % Choice and Fancy) the quality of this offering was low with about as many medium calves as there were fancy and choice; the majority were of the good grade. Seventy-five percent went, to Ohio and Indiana buyers. Prices are expected to pick up several cents and no doubt will as the quality improves at least.
Sales to be held this week include : The Christainsburg Angus, Tuesday 23; Charlottesville, 24; Culpeper, 25 ; and Orange 26. I plan to attend the . sales in this area so should be in better position to foretell what our calves might fetch come Friday night.

On Wednesday September 17, the Rappahannock -County High School elected the S.C.A, officers for the session. Peggy Ann Green .and Newbill Miller tied for the office of president; therefore, they will act jointly; Barbara Griffith was chosen as vice president; Jean Brown as Secretary-Treasurer; and Lois Racer as Reporter.
On Wednesday, September 24, approximately 40 pupils belonging to the F.H.A and F.F.A clubs attended the Atlantic Rural Exposition at Richmond.
