Thomas J. Thorp, of Amissville, left Tuesday, October 7 for Alexandria, where he will enter the Armed Forces.
Bricker - Zinn
The Takoma Park Christain Church, Takoma Park, ^ Maryland, was the scene of the wedding of Miss Helen Louise Zinn, daughter of Mr. and._Mrs^-C^-C. Zinn of Amissville and Sgt. Karl M. Bricker, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Bricker of Newcomerstown, Ohio, on Sunday, September 28, at 3 :$K) o’clock.
The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Ben^ S. Johnson, Ipastor of the church. The alter was ^decorated with palms and white gladiolis.
Mrs. \V. Sweat, of. Takoma Park, played the nuptial music and Miss Ruth Bancroft sang, “I Love You Truly,” “Because” and “The Sweetest Story Ever Told.”
The bride wore, for her wedding, a# navy suit with rose accessories and carried a white prayer, book covered with a white orchid. Mrs. E. Graham Hackley, of Amissville, was her sister’s matron of honor! Cpl. John Dinan of Swampscott, Massachusetts, was best man and the ushers were Pfc. Jerry Rymer and Pfc. Lad Van Gruden.
A reception was held at the home of Miss Lois Ballard immediately following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Mrs. Carson Davis, Miss Lois Ballard, Mrs. Blanche Dickey, and Mrs. E. M. Walker.
Following the reception the couple left for a brief wedding trip to Ohio and New Jersey.
The bride is a graduate of Rappahannock County High School, class of ‘51, and has been employed as secretary wth the Lamb Seal and Stencil Co. in Washington. D. C.
Sgt. Bricker attended school in Ohio and is now stationed at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey.
