It Could Be a Compliment . . .

The press need make no apology when President Truman says that <87 per cent of the newspapers were opposed to his re-election in 1948. There could be thought that the press may be paid no higher compliment. His record for the past four years holds abundant evidence the” 87 per cent were correct in their judgement. Perhaps the criticism of the press may -■be that it didn’t work hard enough.
