Well “Crazy Maier” made it much ^easier for me tq get the Natural Bridge Soil Conservation District started, which has helped Botetourt County just as has the Culpeper District (formed about the same time) helped the Rappahannock farmers who were once “crazy Maiers” but now are recognized instead as sage men on the land. “Crazy Maier” and farmers like him have made it unnecessary for the man with a plan on the land to be ridiculed.

Yes, sir, folks, get a soil conservation plan, put it on the land, tie the two securely to a sound over all farm management plan.
