Use Your Land Correctly
Farms and ranches now occupy a little more than a billion acres, or slightly less than 60% of the area of the United States. Some of the land within these six million farms and ranches can be cultivated safely, but a great deal of it is too steep and erodible, too wet, too shallow, or in some other way not suited to cultivation.
Practically every farmer in Culpeper and Rappahannock counties has some of the land problems meptioned above. Some have worked out solutions to these problems. Many others fcre still wondering just what is best to do, or where to find out. There is a way for them to find help in solving these problems—through fhe Culpeper Soil Conservation District. m
