Miss T. Mary Deacham, Superintendent of Public Welfare of Fairfax county, will talk on the relationship between the court and welfare department in problems of temporary care.
Dr. William Young, director of the mental hygiene clinic of Alexandria, will tell of the use of the mental hygiene clinic for juveniles under temporary care.
J. H. Palmieri, director of social services of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations court of the District of Columbia will make suggestions of the needs and possible solutions to our problems of temporary care of juveniles as seen iby an outside observer.
This meeting is open to all persons interested in the study and solution of this problem. The will of the people was expressed and the general recognition reflected that existing services for juveniles appearing before the courts have been inadequate by the provisions of the juvenile court law enacted during the 1950 session of the Virginia General Assembly, that directs the Department of Welfare and Institutions to “plan and establish an adequate and coordinated program of social services, probation and detention facilities to all juvenile and domestic rela
