Cleaning-Up Old Hollow

Project Prog-esses

Up to now, the work done on Old Hollow has been mostly in the clearing and cleaning line. Ten garden club members spent a day in May picking up glass, paper and tin cans and pulling weeds. The highway department has put up picnic tables and an incinerator.

Future plans for improvements include the hiring of a bulldozer to (level and scrape down the pool itself. Later on the depths in the pool will be marked and a board for diving will be erected. It is hoped that these plans will be completed by the time for the Red Cross' Swimming Classes directed by Mr. Camp, so that they can be taught at Old Hollow. Although the cleaning of Old Hollow is not a Red Cross project, the Red Cross is very interested in the project and have asked that an article discribing the work in detail be contributed to their publication.

Though much has been accomplished there is still much to be done. Funds are running short. The remaining sum will be used to hire the bulldozer for a few hours. At a future date a complete report of the spending of the money donated will be-published.
