Bridal Shower Given To
Mrs, Brace Bowie

Mrs. W. A. Miller entertained at a miscellaneous shower in her home, “Mt. Prospect” on Friday afternoon in honor of the bride, Mrs. Bruce Stringfellow Bowie.
Mrs. Bowie, the former Miss Gladys Reid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Reid of “Rose Cottage, received with her hostess, Mrs. Miller on the porch where the presents were placed. Mrs. Bowie was attired in a dark blue dress with white acessories and wore a corsage of red and white roses.
After the opening of the gifts by the bride, Mrs. Bowie and the guests were invited by Mrs. Miller to the dining room for refreshments.
The table was tastefully and appropriately decorated for the occasion with the center piece consisting of a silver lx^wl of, lilies, baby’s breath, and ferns, surrounded by candles and the imported table cloth was of white linen and lace.
Other guests included Mrs. C. G. Reid and Mrs. Paul Miller, mother and sister of the bride; Miss Lucy Catherine Bowie of Culpeper and Washington, sister of the groom; Mrs. W. C. Campbell, Mrs. T. C. Lea, Mrs. C. J. Miller, Mrs. L. J. Turner, Mrs. Jack Petty, Mrs. J. W. Price, Miss Lottie Burton, Miss Margaret Compton, Miss Louise Cloud, Mrs. C. T. Bruce, Mrs. Morgan Johnston, Mrs. Milton Hawkins, Mrs, E. M. Jones, Mrs. Louemma Moffett, Mrs. Mrs. Gilbert Updike, Mrs. D. D. Miller, and Miss Carolyn Gates Turner.
