Mrs. Annie Gore Bruce has returned to Jackson Hill, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jatk Bruce, after a visit with Mrs. D. V. Chapman and her mother, Mrs. Mary C. Brown. Mrs, Bruce will leave socn for a visit in Madison with her daughter, Mrs. A.L. Blankenbaker and Mr. Blankenbaker.

The June meeting of the Culpeper Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, was held Friday in ’the Parish Hall of the Episcopal church and was marked by an interesting historical program and the annual election of officers.
Mrs. James A. Bragg was named president, suceeding Mrs. Thomas A. Jeffries who declined reeleetion, with Mrs. Berkeley G. Calfee, Mrs. E. O. Willis, and Miss Sue Reeve Wright as vicepresidents Mrs. Milton Grimsley was elected secretary; Mrs. Ara W. Smith, treasurer; and Mrs. Douglas Thrift, historian.
