ENCOURAGING REPORTS OF MEDICAL RESEARCH
When Senator Clyde Hoey of North Carolina died in his of-' fice on Wednesday of last week he was the fifteenth member of the Senate to be taken by death since 1 became a member of this body in 1947. That is a high rate -of loos for a group which has only 96 members, even though many of them start their term of ser-~ vice, when they are in dramatic of loss for a group which has only the upper age brackets. My realization of this fact gave dramatic significance to testimony given on the same day by the Director of the National Heart Institute.
