Chief Forest Warden Raymond M. Johnson of Rappahannock County states that since the vegetation has come out, and with the recent showers, it is unnecessary to man the Virginia Forest Service lookout towers at the present time. However, if we have a prolonged dry spell, thfe Lookout Watchman will be back on duty. Mr. Johnson requests the cooperation of the general public in being careful with the handling of outdoor fires and that. they do everything reasonable to prevent the spread of these fires to woodland. In case there are any fires in your neighborhood, please report them directly to your Chief Forest Warden, telephone number Sperryville 2443, and crews will be dispatched to that area to help control the fire.'
