Usable, clean Boy Scout and Cub Scout Uniforms, specified camping equipment and first aid kits be packed in a wooden case —and loaded on some of the “Help Korea Trains” that will soon be across the country. These trains will also receive other items contributed by American business, industry and national organizations for the people of South Korea.
President Eisenhower attaches great importance and significance to the Campaign, Dr. Schuck said. He wrote the nation’s Scout Executives that President Eisenhawer endorsed the program in a letter to Dr. Howard Rusk,' President of the American-Korean Foundation, saying:
“The timing of the AmericanKorean Foundation’s campaign is particularly fortunate, for with the opening of the truce talks in Geneva, it is urgent that we do everything possible to let our brave Korean allies know how deeply we feel toward them and that in a democracy we stand by those who fight with us to resist Communist aggression.. I attach the greatest importance ’to the work of the American-Korean Foundation, for it is serving our -national jnteresti*^^1^^
Expressing confidence that each < ±Council “will do an effective and meaningful job”, Dr. Schuck said that by each Council developing one crate it “becomes a noteworthy contribution to the Boy Scouts of South Korea, who are in such great need.”
Each “standard” Boy Scout Friendship Package, carefully developed, is to include the following: v
