Av tremendous crowd came to the Flint Hill Firemen’s first carnival held in front of the Keyser Packing House in Flint Hill last Friday and Saturday nights, July 23 and 24.
Kiddies stood in line 2 deep to claim their ride on the ferris wheel as parents filled the bingo stands to capacity.
Friday night’s attendance was surpassed by that of Saturday nightr when persons came from , Amissville, Washington, Sperryville, Culpeper,' Front Royal, Warrenton, Washington, D. C. and numerous other places to show their approval of the Flint Hill Firemen’s undertaking.
Miss Mary Karland Fincham was crowned queen of the Carnival by Master of Ceremonies, H. S. Barksdale, who appeared to feel^ no displeasure in discharging his duties. Pretty little Miss Nancy Atkins was the runner up contestant w^th attractive Miss Carolyn Williams receiving the third highest number of points in the contest for Queen of the Flint Hill Carnival.
The 1954 Plymouth that was given away by the Flint Hill Firemen was received by Ashby Butler of Woodville.
