Dear Editor:
Now that the county has four fire departments, every undertaking of the individual departments must come more of a community affair, a town and vicinity project. The carnival sponsored by the Washington Fire Department, is a carnival sponsored by the community of Washington for the good of the community of Washington as the Flint Hill carnival was designed for the good of that community. In turn they are for the good of the county as a whole.
But while to make the carnival a ‘success, the county must stand together, to plan it and put it on must be the responsibility and obligation of the town of Washington. Every person in the town and vicinity will be called upon to help for it is their project, it js their Fire Department that is sponsoring it. v 1
