The Chiefs began the seventh with—Jackie—Sisk—walking,—St~~ —Brown— connecting—for—a long homer to left field. Buck Clater singled and Ned Settle doubled to continue the Chiefs’ streak of good hitting, and move them 3 runs farther into the lead.

A final rally by Middletown brought in 2 runs, as E. Jenkins' got a 2-base hit, E. Clem walked,; Stewart walked, Roberson singled, Dodson walked and Richards singled.

Charles Dodson and Newbill Miller singled early in the ninth and Strother Brown tripled scoring Dodson and Miller for the final runs of the game.

Sunday’s well-played game moved the Chiefs into a definite lead over Middletown, who bowed . down from their second place standing in the Shenandoah League, after holding it undisputed, for the first part of the season.
