Westing Advises To
Cull Sows Now
Farmers who cull their poorproducing and off-type sqws now will be making the most of the current situation.
R. S. Westing, Jr., assistant animal husbandman at VPI, points out that the hog market is good now. But the days of dropping prices aren’t far away. The 1954 pig crop was 13% higher than the 1953 crop, and these pigs will be going tQ market before long.
Both boars and bred gilts will be available at a series of sales this summer. All animals are registered with the breed association they represent.
