3-3 until the first of the seventh, when after two men were down, the Chiefs rallied with one safe hit following, another. James Settle walked, and J. Hawkins, J. Turner, Pete Clater and Buck Clater singled. The Grovers seemed unable to plug the burst of hits as Charles Dodson, Ned Settle,. Elmer Foster, Newbill Miller and James Settle all singled bringing in nine runs and sending the score to a 10-0 count.

The Grovers tried vainly to break into the scoring, but they were retired in short fashion in the last two innings. The Chiefs were held at their 10 run lead and the game ended, all scoring having been chalked up, during the second and seventh frames. CHIEFS
