Accidents In County
Two pickup trucks collided Sat* urday afternoon on U.S. Route 211 just outside of the town of Washington, resulting in $300 property damage, but no injury.
Clayborn Hudson of Washington. driving a 1953 Chev rolet pickup, made a left-hand turn into Mac’s Grocery and cut in front of a 1958 pickup owned by Jack’s Amusement Company of Front Royal and driven by Donald A. Burke. Hudson was charged with failing to yield right-of-way and was fined $5 and cost Monday morning in County Court.
Trooper W. A. Buntin was in vestigating officer.
A second accident ocurred Tuesday afternoon September 22 onehalf mile west of Amissville on Route 211 when a pickup belonging to Joseph S. Hitt and operated by James Brown of Huntly pulled partially on the highway from a hay field and a 1951 Oldsmobile owned and operated by Roy Stringfellow skidded into the pick up as a car approached from the opposite direction.
Trooper W. A. Buntin charged Stringfellow with reckless driving and Brown with failing to yield right-of-way.
