Sea Depths Explored
The famed French oceanographic ship Calypso, under the direction of Capt. Jacnues-Yves Cousteau, co-inventor of the Aqua-Lung, is using man-made sea monsters to explore the depths of the sea.
Two of the latest vehicles for undersea .work are the Diving Saucer, which resemble* a huge mechanical turtle with gaping tyes and the Halibut, a flat-bellied bottom scooter that houses photographic equipment. The two devices were shown in New York, and Washington during September while the Calypso was making its first visit to the United States.
