Acquitted Of Charge

Charges of hit-and-run driving against Mrs. Bertha Williams iof Rappahannock County were dJP missed at a preliminary hearing in Warren County Court by Judge LeRoy Corron, on a motion py Defense Attorney H. F. Minter, on grounds of insufficient evidence.

Mrs. Williams had been charged with striking Richard McNabb, 15, on Main Street in Front Rayal and with not stopping to render aid and assistance. .

Witnesses for the Commonwealth were Harvey Cameron, Warren Williams and his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Bonner. Both Cameron and Williams testtifiefd that they saw Mr% Williams cstr make a right turn from Blue Ridge Avenue to Main Street, saw the boy fall from his bicycle, pick up the bicycle and walk to the steps <>f a near by building and sit dowjp. Neither'of the three witnesses said they saw Mrs. William’s vehicle strike the boy or the bicycle. f

The boy testified that he does not remember being struck or falling. He said he was riding his bicycle and everything “went blade,”
